Instead of a process video I thought it makes more

Instead of a process video I thought it makes more sense to show you the video clip of the actual sperm whale I saw and captured on my phone. Such gracefulness in its movement. It is deep diving into the ocean and will only resurface after several hours. So it’s a goodbye for now. 😊

Also I’ve learnt that the patterns on the whales’ tails are like our fingerprints. They are unique to each one and thus by looking at this tail, we are able to know its identification number, HL270. The whales that pass through Kaikoura bay are tracked and monitored. It is good that they are caring for the whales as when the Europeans first arrived in New Zealand, whaling was a thriving industry where whales were almost wiped out to satisfy the greed and vanity of human. Thank God that we are more woke in this generation and hopefully not too late. 😊

Time for some digital art. I haven’t been idle on my iPad. Been dabbling and trying to figure out the way too many options on Procreate. I really wanted to capture the tail of the sperm whale saying bye while it deep dives into the waters. One of the very memorable moments in my last New Zealand trip. It was a majestic sight. Amazed by the graceful movement of an enormous creature.

Here’s the process reel of Mt Cook Sketch!

Such beauty at the national park! Took my breath away. ❤️

In the morning of 14 Dec 1991, 12 million cubic metres of Aoraki collapsed and plunged into the Tasman Glacier. This avalanche has removed 30 metres of the peak, which is possibly about 8 storeys of a normal building, in a measurement done in 2013. Despite this and other smaller avalanches, the beauty is still breathtaking. I added the aurora australis that I was able to capture at Twizel, not too far from Mt Cook National Park.
